India has won its third gold medal in the Commonwealth Games 2022. 20-year-old Achinta Shevli won the medal in the men's 73 kg weightlifting category

The country got its second medal in weightlifting itself. Gururaja won the bronze medal in the 61 kg weight category by lifting 269 kg.

Bindiyarani Devi lifted 116 kg in the clean and jerk round and also made a new national record in this round. Earlier the national record was also in the name of Bindiyarani.
